Weird Thing To Keep Secret, But OK
-
Sixty years ago, USC students pulled off a big prank at the annual rivalry football game with UCLA: They sabotaged the card-flipping stunt (you know, when students hold up cards and it spells something out) so that the UCLA student section spelled out USC. The thing is, nobody ever revealed who did it. Now, the Los Angeles Times has identified the pranksters as a group of sophomores who later became respected members of adult society, including military officers, lawyers, and even the Majority Leader of the California State Assembly. They've finally gone on the record. A couple of things: Why was this such a secret? And why, if they figured out how to prank the card stunt, did they do something as lame as having UCLA kids spell USC? Wouldn't you want to have them spell out something more rude?
