So You'll Need Some New Talking Points On That
-
You know how some of you have blamed the loss of millions of jobs in America on immigrants? Or on welfare? Or on.... well, someone actually did the research and found the things that reduced the number of available jobs, and the biggest factors were not what you thought they were. The biggest job-killers? Cheap goods from China, and robots, a/k/a automation. Next is rising minimum wages. Immigration isn't a factor at all. Food stamps aren't, either. What MIGHT be a factor and hasn't been quantified yet is the attitude of Millennials and younger; they're not sure whether those people are deliberately eschewing work or not. But you now have some evidence of what IS causing the problem. (Washington Post)
