You Never Think About The Water They Use. Maybe You Should
-
You could dismiss this guy's lawsuit over where the water used to brew Olympia beer comes from as a nuisance and maybe it IS unlikely to succeed, given the leeway courts give to advertising puffery. But is he wrong to point out that the brewery allegedly implies that the beer's made from clean, fresh mountain water from Washington state when some of it is brewed in Irwindale, CA with local water? After all, the slogan IS "It's the Water." And I don't know if you've ever been to Irwindale, but I don't live too far from there, and Irwindale is pretty much dirt and quarries and industry. Whether the suit has a chance or not, someone really should be out there exposing when advertising doesn't tell the truth. Even for a low-end beer. (Sacramento Bee)
