Novel way to fight your firing: A waiter in Vancouver filed a human rights complaint after being fired for being rude, and his contention is that he's not rude, he's just French. No, really. The idea is that what Canadians (and Americans) would perceive as rude is just the way French people are (he terms it as being "direct" and "professional"), and being held accountable for that is, well, sorta xenophobic.
