Wait, Is Forever 21 The Same Thing Or A Different Store? It's So Confusing
-
Retail has taken its hits lately, but while some of it can be blamed on technology and Amazon, sometimes it's just bad management. Look at H&M, the international "fast fashion" chain, which is really hurting because nobody's buying its clothes. Well, not NOBODY, but not enough. The problem: While other chains, including Macy's and Nordstrom, cut back on inventory last holiday season and ended up selling everything they had and not needing to heavily discount as a result, H&M overstocked, didn't sell as much, and now has a ton of leftover inventory it can't get rid of. Also, there's competition like Uniqlo and Primark that also kept things tight and marketed better and did well. And there was also that controversy over a racist sweatshirt ad, which didn't help at all. Maybe you can go to H&M and get some bargains. (Washington Post)
