How Did This Even Become Debatable In The First Place?
-
The Oregon State Bar bulletin included a statement against white nationalism and violence. Some bar members, mostly Republicans, are angry and demanding dues refunds because they consider this a poiitical statement. So, explain how white nationalism -- racism -- is a political issue. (The bar's statement does not mention Trump. A supporting statement from specialty bar associations does, but that's not the main bar statement.) I thought we'd long ago agreed that white nationalism is universally a bad thing. How is this a matter where both sides are equal and up for debate? Seriously? Shouldn't Republicans be against white nationalism, too? Why are they upset that the bar is taking a stand against white nationalism? How did we get here? (The Oregonian/Oregon Live)
