You'll Burn Your Hands, But It's For A Good Cause
-
The environmental wave continues with Dunkin' Donuts announcing that it will get rid of foam cups at its California stores, switching to paper cups. They previously did that in Hawaii and New York. Whatever your position on these environmentally driven changes, I'll just say that foam cups are actually kinda unpleasant for hot drinks; you can imagine what chemicals are leaching into your drink. One problem, though: For paper cups to hold hot drinks, they have to be lines with plastic, which isn't biodegradable and which might be just as bad for you. They still want you to bring your own reusable cups, like that British chain we heard about a few weeks ago is doing, but it's hard to imagine that working. (Orange County Register)
