We've seen scare stories about a dwindling supply of cocoa. Now, here's a story about the skyrocketing cost of vanilla, real vanilla bean, that is, the stuff they get from Madagascar. That's way better than artificial, but because it's gone up about 1,000% in price, you may not be tasting the good stuff any time soon. Blame climate change, or weather change, or whatever you want to call it. Cooler weather and more storms are why it's more expensive. (CBC)
