Maybe An Upper Age Limit Would Be... (ducks)
-
A 79-year-old man shot his wife of 59 years to death because he thought she was possessed; having a psychotic break at that age after that many years together is strange and tragic. You can be with someone forever and not know what's coming next. But you also have to wonder how long there might have been indications that the guy was mentally ill, because it's rare that these things happen with absolutely no indication that there might be trouble. Oh, wait, elderly people losing it and shooting people? Here's another article all about that, when elderly dementia patients have access to guns. That might open a whole gun control topic, which is, as you know, talk radio kryptonite, but it IS an issue. (New Jersey Herald, Newton; Kaiser Health News via Tampa Bay Times)
