The Centers for Disease Control say(s) that about half of American adults have been on a diet in the past year. There are a lot of additional statistics with this study, one interesting fact being that the wealthier you are, the more likely you're trying to lose weight. But there's dieting at every economic level. Another interesting thing is that only 42.4% of dieters said they'd cut back on junk food or fast food, and only 38.6% cut back on sugar, candy, or sweets. So you're doing it wrong.
