Your Inconvenience Makes Someone Money. It Always Does

Says here in the New York Times that autoplay video ads are here to stay, because, even if you hate them and turn them off immediately, they make money, lots of money, from stupid advertisers who will accept a video that wasn't really watched the same as one that WAS watched. And while there are ways to turn them off in Twitter and Facebook and a few Chrome extensions to block them, for the most part, you can't really stop them. The article says it'll get less annoying -- more ads are automatically muted -- but they still suck, and we're all stuck with them. (New York Times)
