Well, It IS Authentically Local Cuisine. Maybe TOO Authentic

For some reason, Chinese tourists like to go to York, England. And when they do, there's a certain chip shop where they flock for fish and chips. This article talks about how the chippie has menus in Mandarin and promotes itself on Chinese apps, but the best explanation they offer for why this place has become a favorite for Chinese tourists was that President Xi shared fish and chips with then-Prime Minister Cameron in 2015 (and, no, it wasn't at this particular shop). That seems like a weak explanation for why tour buses head straight for this joint when there are, what, thousands of chippies throughout the U.K.? Perhaps you might explore this. I don't care enough. (BBC)
