Shout, Shout, Let It All Out

We've gotten nastier, haven't we? Or maybe it's that we have more platforms to show it. But when a respectable major newspaper posts a tweet that basically encourages fans to jump on the now-ex-Browns kicker for missing those kicks against New Orleans, it just seems like everyone, even people who should be above that, is indulging in coarse and anti-social behavior. The tweet said, "Anything you want to say to Browns kicker Zane Gonzalez today? Keep it clean, please," with a photo and the caption "ANY MESSAGES FOR ZANE GONZALEZ?" Anything for clicks, I guess. Sure, fans are upset by the loss (I guess, since, you know, other than the Week 1 tie, losing has been the one consistent thing in the Browns' world), but does the Cleveland Plain Dealer's website have to encourage people to vent all over a guy who, his failure aside, didn't WANT to fail? I know, it was probably an intern or someone who posted it, but, still, it represents a major news outlet. Not a good look. (Cleveland.com via Twitter)
