Failure Is Not An Option. Seriously, It Isn't Available
-
A Florida teacher says she was fired because she didn't agree with the district's no-zero-grade policy -- the rule is that no student gets lower than a 50% grade, even if they don't turn in their work. The district says she was wrong and she could have given a zero, but the handbook pretty clearly says "NO ZERO'S (sic) - LOWEST POSSIBLE GRADE IS 50%." But they also note she was teaching on a probationary basis for only a month. So someone deserves a zero. Or 50%. (WPTV/West Palm Beach)
