We Need A Study Determining The Effectiveness Of Salad-Based Protests

There were many things going on this week in Birmingham, England this week that were no laughing matter, including stabbings in the city centre, but soccer's Aston Villa has fired its manager Steve Bruce and the League Manager's Association is demanding that the fan who threw a cabbage at Bruce during Tuesday's match against Preston North End be banned for life. IT'S NOT FUNNY, he says, and he wonders how the fan got a cabbage into Villa Park in the first place. Are they confiscating vegetables now? Now, it's true, nobody should be throwing things at anybody anywhere (hello, Bart O'Kavanaugh!), but it's a cabbage. And considering everything else going on in the world and in the Midlands, a cabbage isn't high on the list of bad things. (Birmingham Mail)
