You'd Think People Would Be Embarrassed By It, But Instead It's A Tourist Attraction
-
You can take a statue down. You can remove a flag. But what can you do when a Confederate monument is carved into the side of a mountain? We're referring, of course, to Stone Mountain, Georgia, which depicts Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis, and Stonewall Jackson. Stacey Abrams, the Democratic candidate for Governor, once called for its elimination, but it's not been an issue in the election. But, still, it's odd that there's a major landmark tourist attraction devoted to honoring men who fought to keep slavery, isn't it? (New York Times)
