Nice Non-Work If You Can Get It
-
If you just stopped coming to work, would your employer keep paying you? Of course not. Okay, then, what if you were elected to a paid job and rarely came to work? Apparently, that's different, as in the case of a Northern California sheriff who decided he'd had enough of the job and moved out of state yet still collected his $9,000/month salary. When caught by the media, he hurriedly retired and claimed he was on medical leave. Amazing how much you can get away with -- at least, for a while -- when nobody's watching. (Sacramento Bee)
