Though I'm Sure 'Hee Haw' Paid The Bills Quite Nicely
-
The thing that's striking about the death of Roy Clark is that time has sort of restored perspective on the man's talent. If he'd have passed away 20 years ago, all you'd see and hear is "Hee Haw," and, surely, a lot of people only know him from that. But enough time has passed that there's more recognition of something more important than "Hee Haw" and all the guest shots he die on sitcoms: He was one amazing guitar and banjo player. Even forget his pop crossover "Yesterday, When I Was Young." He could flat out play. It's nice that he's being remembered for that as well as "Pickin' and Grinnin'." (CNN)
