Go Naked For All Anyone Cares. Unless You're On Skype, Maybe
-
While I wasn't paying attention, a debate apparently broke out over whether people who work from home should dress up for work rather than working in sweats or pajamas or, I don't know, in the nude. A Wall Street Journal article advocating dressing up for work elicited this article in The Guardian wholeheartedly agreeing. I've worked from home for about 20 years now and I've NEVER dressed up for work, although people who see me at conventions would argue that I don't dress appropriately for those, either. If I cared, I'd be worried. But I'd like to think the quality of my work for the past decades trumps whether I'm sitting there in a tie and jacket. Oh, and radio hosts are in the same position: If nobody's seeing you while you're on the air, is it important for you to dress as if they DO see you? (And does being on, say, Facebook Live streaming video change that?). (The Guardian)
