Recession Stuff: The administration claims that half a million homeowners have now gotten loan modifications under the Making Home Affordable program, about 40% of those eligible. But that's a drop in the bucket of those who NEED loan changes, and there are a lot of people who say that the banks routinely demand a ton of paperwork and then conveniently "lose" it all, stalling as long as they can before they'll consider your application. I still don't understand why the government didn't make loan mods mandatory and across the board; the banks might not have liked it, but it would have helped the economy.
