The First Payment People Skip
-
This is an interesting, and serious, topic: Despite what seems like good news for the economy with low unemployment, a record number of Americans are 90 days or more behind on their car payments. That's an indication of major, major trouble. And it fits the Democrats' contention that the job numbers are illusory; people ARE working, but wages have fallen to the point where people can't pay their bills. Or they're underemployed -- they count as employed, but they don't get a full salary or full hours. The auto loan laggards are mostly young, with low credit scores, and some say that student loans are to blame. Are you perceiving that people are having trouble making ends meet? (Washington Post)
