Oh, That's Our Secret Ingredient
-
Ew: A Vancouver restaurant's commercial kitchen -- rented to other restaurants -- had roaches, mouse droppings, and other unfortunate grossness when inspected on December 28th. Double Ew: A customer of a restaurant using that kitchen's basement allegedly found a rat in a bread bowl of chowder. The inspectors determined that the chowder was "unfit for human consumption." How a kitchen can get that disgusting, I can't imagine. Someone HAD to know the place was unfit, right? (Warning: There's video of the rat in the chowder.) Anyway, the restaurant that owned the kitchen is open again, but would you eat there? (The place that actually served the chowder is closed, but you'd assume that.) And maybe it's time for another round of that light talk radio staple "what have YOU found in YOUR food?" (CBC)
