Where are the worst, most violent fans in sports? The knee-jerk reaction is to point at Philly and Oakland, but (and I recognize that there's some bias here because I'm a Philly sports fan) that's overblown, at least where Philly's concerned. But I've seen much, much worse right here in L.A., especially at Dodger games, where people assume it's all laid back/late-arriving-early-leaving, and that's not true. In fact, some sections of Dodger Stadium, and the parking lot, are scary. After one brawl erupted Friday night in the left field pavilion, another in the parking lot left a man on life support. And this wasn't a Dodgers-Giants game like the Bryan Stow incident, either, it was a boring extra-inning game against Arizona. But once again, Dodger games are where people get beaten into the hospital. Do stories like this make you more likely to just stay home and watch games on TV (which, sadly, a large percentage of L.A. residents can't do because most Dodger games are unavailable on TV to much of the market)?
