Too Much Of A Good Thing

For a while, I noticed doctors advising patients to take Vitamin D pills as a supplement. Then they stopped, because the research showed that it wasn't a benefit and most people get plenty Vitamin D from sunlight and normal diet, and too much Vitamin D is bad for your kidneys. The doctors were puzzled by this patient's failing kidneys until he 'fessed up that a naturpath advised him to take massive doses of Vitamin D for reasons unknown. Fact is, most "dietary supplements" are untested and probably at best of no real benefit and at worst dangerous. Do you take that stuff? Why? (And if your show carries those direct response ads for any kind of supplement, good luck to you....) (CTV News)
