Whatever. Just Do Something About The Cramped Seats And Lack Of Overhead Bin Space

Flight times are longer today than they were years ago. The actual time in the air or from gate to gate are NOT longer. So, what the heck is happening? Simple: The airlines pad the schedule to leave more time to be "on time." It's not about accuracy, it's about looking like you're on time or even early. It's an illusion. The goal is actually to be on time at the gate, not early or late, but loosening the window for that gives them a more attractive on-time record. Do you care, as long as you get where you're going when you expect to get there? (BBC)
