Twenty Bucks To Come Into Town. Thirty If You Want To Stay Out

Speaking of tolls, New York is seriously moving towards congestion pricing like they have in London, an expensive toll on every car entering Manhattan during business hours. This isn't about the pros and cons of that. This is about the people in New Jersey, who commute to the city and who are facing double tolling, first from the bridges and tunnels and then from the congestion pricing fee. And with the trains and buses in a shambles and the train tunnels crumbling -- literally -- because Chris Christie screwed that deal up, they're now talking about imposing fees on New Yorkers entering the Garden State, as if that's going to stop New York. If your commute suddenly cost a fortune, what would you do? Quit? Take the bus, which might be inconvenient? Take Ubers? (New York Times)
