Permanent Subplot In Your Life Story
-
For those of us whose lives have been touched by cancer, this article by a 35-year cancer survivor reminds us of how, once cancer enters your life, it's there in the background of everything, every day, all the time. After a while, it's not in the foreground, but so much of what you do is informed by the knowledge that cancer has affected you and can do so again at any time, out of the blue. For those of you who have survived cancer or have a loved one who did, did it change you? Is it there, always, lurking, a topic of conversation and thought that you can't entirely escape? How do you deal with that? (Washington Post)
