Stick To Water, Unless You're In Flint

They keep telling you that sugar is sugar, but do you listen? Probably not, which is why we get more studies warning that sugary drinks increase your risk of early death and that includes fruit juices. Drink a lot of juice and it can kill you, even though it's natural. But there are caveats that make the analysis a little more unclear: There weren't a lot of coronary heart disease-related deaths overall, and the direct correlation hasn't been proven. Also, the risk, assuming there is one, arises from different causes depending on whether you're talking about soda (increasing resistance to insulin) or juice (hormone stimulation leading to waist fat). And it's a study of studies here, which is always a little sketchy and in this case involves self-reporting, also sketchy. Nevertheless, juice is not a diet food. (CNN)
