Someone Just Wasn't Getting The Message

What do you do with a dead, beached whale? We know from the legendary 1970 Oregon incident that we cannot blow it up. (This was the result.) In Huntington Beach (Surf City, USA!), they tried to tow the carcass out to sea. It would not cooperate. Every time they got the whale into the water, it washed back onto the beach. Solution? They buried it on the beach, in a 15-foot hole; they covered the whale with about 6 to 8 feet of sand. So, people will be sunbathing and playing volleyball over a dead whale, and I can't imagine any problems when the whale decomposes and the hole caves in, or if wind and other eroding elements bring the rotting carcass closer to the surface. Nope, seems fine all around. (Orange County Register)
