In the wake of the Kim Darroch incident -- the British Ambassador to the U.S. who said that stuff about Trump in diplomatic memos that got leaked -- it's a fair question to ask, as this Guardian columnist does, whether the loss of privacy means we can't be honest even in private conversations anymore. If someone whose private and privileged work communications for work can be exposed, can't anybody's conversations? Does "off the record" mean anything anymore? Are your emails safe, even if encrypted? Is there any way to avoid being ruined by a stray comment other than to say and do nothing even remotely opinionated or controversial? (The Guardian)
