Beware Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane Hiding Behind The 'Welcome' Sign
-
I grew up near North Haledon, New Jersey, and it was a town with practically no unique characteristics. Now, it has one: It's become a speed trap. The town lowered its speed limits and has generated a lot more revenue from ticketing as a result. A LOT more. They wrote 1,000% more tickets year-to-year. The acting police chief claims it's for public safety and says, "It's not like we're doing this for revenue." Really? Because nah. And your area surely has a speed trap or two, which is always a topic. (Bergen Record)
