Barneys New York, the way too expensive clothing store, went bankrupt and closed many of its stores. The story's going to be spun as another example of how brick-and-mortar retail is taking it on the chin. But have you ever shopped there? Have you SEEN their prices? I think that maybe this was a case of a store that assumed that there would always be a profit in charging top dollar for fashion that isn't anything special. In fact, it was one of those stores I'd walk by and wonder who shops there and how they could stay in business. So, at least I'm not all that shocked. (New York Times)
