It's probably a generational thing, which means it may take a little more time for some people to catch up to the idea that the old ways aren't really applicable anymore. In this case, it s an Alabama high school where the administration deleted a graduation photo of a female student who wore a tuxedo in her senior portrait, based on a policy that girls wear drapes and boys wear tuxes. The incident, which the student says she didn't want to blow up into a controversy, now has the school reconsidering its policy, and at least that's a step in the right direction. You can assume that they'd just never considered that the policy wouldn't be a good fit with LGBTQ+ students, or with 2019. (Washington Post)
