Sorry, The Algorithm Doesn't Trust Your Nose

It does not seem fair that some companies are using face-scanning technology to decide whether to hire you. It's especially unfair in that there's no evidence that the algorithm can tell whether you're a good candidate or not. The science isn't there. Companies are using it anyway, because, like resume scanners, they figure that nobody can hold them accountable for poor judgment or discrimination if they can say, well, the computer did all the deciding.
