Disappointing, Dad
-
Roland Berger, a German business guru, has always maintained that his father was anti-Nazi, that he quit the Nazi party in protest in 1938, and was the inspiration for Berger's philanthropy. One small problem has arisen, and, you guessed it, it's that dad was not anti-Nazi at all. In fact, he was a war profiteer who profited from seizure of Jews' businesses and property. And now, Berger is having experts examine the story and he vows to set the record straight, saying that he had only heard what his father and relatives said and did not know the truth. What would you do if you found out your family had secrets like that? (The Guardian)
