There Shouldn't Be An App For That
-
Technology does good things, but there's always the possibility that it'll be used for bad things. And so we have an Australian case in which a guy used an app to take over an ex-lover's car, remotely stopping and starting and locking and unlocking the vehicle and tracking her movements. In other words, he used it to enable stalking. Privacy and security advocates, and those working with abused women, warned that this could happen, and it is. So, what can we do about it? Or is the tech industry going to look the other way the same way they avoid any responsibility for the corrosion coming from social media? (Washington Post)
