Better Yet, Just Leave Your Phone In Your Pocket. The Messages Can Wait
-
This article advising you to turn off your phone's notifications for extended periods to preserve your sanity does make a good point, and I'll go one further: Turn off all but the most essential notifications, period. You don't need to be constantly pinged by Twitter and CNN. You can live without immediately knowing that someone is asking you to friend them on Facebook. You can wait until you open your mail client to see what email you got. The distraction is real, and you don't have to be distracted. (The Guardian)
