Yeah, But Did He Win His Game?
-
The NTSB says that the crash of a Tesla Model X in 2018 was the fault of both the driver and the car maker: The driver was playing a video game while driving and the car’s autopilot, which, as we know, isn’t supposed to be used for autonomous driving, failed to avoid a crash. Main question: Why is the autopilot system even legal at this point? If it can’t drive the car itself, what’s the point? And if people consistently use it in a manner the car maker admits is dangerous, why put the weapon in their hands? (NPR)
