At Least Money Still Can't Buy Immortality. Yet.

One of the many things we're learning from the pandemic is that the rich consider themselves deserving of more protection from the coronavirus than, well, you and me. That's true in how they're able to find tests while we can't get those, and it's true that they're increasingly building elaborate bunkers outfitted with air cleaners, a year's worth of food, and even swimming pools, bowling alleys, theaters, and hot tubs. One costs $8.35 million. Many cost more than your entire house costs. When the end times come, it would not be surprising if people head right to bunkers like that with torches and pitchforks. They're the perfect example of how unfair life can be. (Los Angeles Times)
