The pandemic has closed a lot of borders, including the ones in the Schengen Zone of Europe that are usually wide open. And that's divided some couples who live in border towns on opposite sides of what used to be an open border. So, for those couples who want some real live face time instead of Zoom or Skype, the only option is to meet at the fence and see each other through the barrier. The article features one of about 100 couples who meet at the Germany-Switzerland border who normally are separated by no more than a 10 minute drive but who currently can't cross at the border.
