The headline in the Miami Herald was about how the poor in South Florida have to endure the pandemic by staying at home in a heat wave when they can't afford air conditioning, and if you think that's trivial, it is not. It is a hardship, and it's another example of how the pandemic's effects are hitting the poor very, very hard. What to do about this is uncertain, but it IS a public health problem -- when it's 90s and humid, people who have no options to stay cool can die -- and it IS serious. (Miami Herald)
