By 'South,' Maybe He Means Windsor Or Niagara Falls

We know what you're trying to say when you fly a Confederate flag, and it's nothing to do with heritage. Here's a striking example: A police officer proudly posing in social media posts with Confederate flag t-shirts and calling it "the real Independence Day flag" and riding in a golf cart displaying the flag. Why is this so striking and an example of how it's about racism and not heritage? He's Canadian. Yes, unless Belleville, Ontario has suddenly moved to Alabama, it's not in the former Confederacy. Why would a Canadian cop pose in the Confederate flag shirt and add the caption, "The South will rise again! Trump 2020"? Worse, why is his boss issuing a statement defending him and the force and decrying how "one isolated post from 47 weeks ago" shouldn't be held against them? (By the way, "47 weeks"... how desperate is he to minimize something that's happened within one year ago?) (CBC)
