Time To Stand Up
-
This is one of several articles noting that there's a growing sentiment that everyone, but especially white people, need to say something about police brutality, racism, and protests on social media. That's because NOT saying anything is, in effect, saying something. Nobody is without an opinion on it, and while in other situations you might think commenting is "nothing but trouble" or "useless" or "nobody wants to hear from me on this," the current situation might just be one of the situations when you really have to at least indicate where you stand. And you can, whether you write your own thing or you amplify others' posts by retweeting or reposting. This is a which-side-are-you-on moment, isn't it? The other issue is whether you can post the usual frivolity alongside #BLM posts, and some say that's not acceptable. What are you posting right now? (CBS News)
