Just Don't Get Into The Car With It, Okay?
-
Here's another unforeseen effect of the pandemic: Atlantic City has relaxed its open container laws. They'll now allow you to walk on the Boardwalk and a few other places with a cocktail in hand. Why? Because restaurants and bars were given the temporary right to sell takeout cocktails. This raises some question about why there are open container laws other than in your car; while some places (New Orleans, for one) don't prohibit walking around with a drink in hand, others are strict about it. If it's OK on a temporary basis, should it be illegal on a regular basis anymore? (WCAU-TV/Philadelphia)
