They Had To Go Ruin One Of The Few Good Things About The Whole Experience
-
In Springfield, IL, the school board approved a dress code for online/remote learning, which included a total ban on pajamas. Worse, the kids aren't allowed to wear slippers or wheeled shoes, and they're being ordered to sit there and look directly into the camera for the entire class. Also, how the heck are teachers going to know if a kid's wearing pajama bottoms or slippers or anything below the shoulders? Let's see them enforce this. But you could ask if kids are more likely to learn if they're dressed nicely. That's the school board's argument. It's wrong, I think -- I would have been LESS likely to pay attention if I was uncomfortably dressed -- but if you're a parent, it's a topic. (NBC News)
