What, Superficial TV News Stories Might Not Be Accurate? Shocking
-
Everything You Know Is Wrong: You saw that Duke University study and the alarming news that neck gaiters, the ones runners wear instead of plain masks, are worse than no mask at all. Turns out that's not exactly true, because the actual study was not statistically meaningful nor was the method used reliable. The study authors took pains to say that their study wasn't even about the masks, just the method, but the news reports ignored them. And now we find out that actual studies show that the gaiters DO block plenty of droplets, especially if they're multiple layers but far better than nothing. So, that.
