Sorry, Kids, No Breaks For You
-
When Tropical Storm Eta was bearing down on Florida, the Duval County Public Schools system was faced with at last a day or two of weather-related school closures. But they didn't miss any classes, because everything went online, just as so many school systems have done during the pandemic. The question is, will this eliminate the traditional snow day? Will there ever be a snow day again, or will school systems just tell kids that the building's closed but be online for class promptly at 7:30 am? And how much does that suck for kids who always looked forward to a day off? (WJXT-TV/Jacksonville)
