Because She Says So

Question: When you put someone on the air as an "expert," do you really know if they're an expert or not? That's the topic that comes to mind when considering Trump "elite legal strike force" attorney Jenna Ellis, who claims to be a "constitutional law expert" despite not being an expert, not by any normal definition of "expert." Her work experience has been as a rural deputy D.A. and teaching law classes at an obscure school, but she CALLS herself an expert and people just accept that at face value. What qualifies someone as an expert in anything, and do you ever look past the P.R. and ask those questions before letting someone put themselves forth in that capacity? (New York Times)
