The Law Against Cooking Fish In The Break Room Microwave Is Still In Effect
-
The French government has suspended the law against workers eating lunch at their desks due to COVID-19, and that's because of a cultural difference: The French have always considered lunch breaks to be essential in their culture. You don't give up that free time so easily. So I get it, and I get why they suspended the law because you can't safely go eat with your co-workers at a restaurant yet. But I also get why some people prefer eating at their desks. Sometimes it's fear of being seen as shirking work, sometimes it's the desire to get work done, sometimes it's that you really don't want the hassle or expense of going out. (CNN)
