I thought we already knew that a lot of junk foods are addictive, but scientists are continuing to study exactly why. And it's a controversy in the research community for some reason. One study concluded that the ingredients in junk food are stripped of the components that slow their absorption (like, say, fiber), then get more rapidly absorbed in your bloodstream. There's also the combination of being high in fat and carbohydrates, a combination not normally found in nature. Can you stop eating your favorite junk foods cold turkey? Willing to test that out?
